Smokey Bones on the block

The Smokey Bones restaurant chain is shutting down:

The operator of Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill restaurants is shedding the 127-outlet chain, although the four locations in Central Ohio will remain open for now.

Darden Restaurants Inc. said it closed 54 underperforming outlets Saturday and will put the remaining 73 for sale.

Smokey Bones locations on Polaris Parkway, Morse Crossing and in Grove City and Reynoldsburg have had strong sales and will be among the outlets put on the selling block, spokesman Joe Chabus said.

I went to the Grove City location once and was not impressed at all.
