Yes, I’d smash a window if I saw a child left under that type of conditions. Further, I don’t believe it’s possible to “accidently” leave a child in a car. As a mother of five, I’ve forgotten my purse, bottles, pacifiers even shopping lists, but I’ve never ever ever forgotten I had a child in the car.

I too don’t think it’s possible, but, unless you were in the exact state of mind of the woman, who knows what she was thinking? She was a principal; probably a pretty concientious and responsible member of society, not to mention giving (most educators are). A principal’s job is tough.
I’m not conding this act, but as you know (better than I with only one child) the stress of managing a children (and yours is a herculean task) can put one in an irrational state at times. I happen to think it was a real mistake that, justice system notwithstanding, will be punished with the most painful form of guilt for the rest of her life.
