On the Dispatch podcast

Bad review from Jerid Kurtz on the Dispatch’s podcast, which I wrote about earlier.

I listened to it and it’s not nearly as bad as Jerid says. It could definitely stand some improvement: a little more animation from the talkers, and some opinion instead of “neutral” analysis. But hey, it’s their first outing and it’s a solid job. I’m sure they’ll tinker with it in the future.

The Dispatch should be encouraged to create and use new forms and to experiment, and so I am.

UPDATE: The second podcast is up, this time on David Brennan, PACs, and charter schools, which I wrote about here.

Surprise surprise, Columbuser says I’m wrong about something. Sometime I should come out and say something completely off the wall like the whole mortgage/foreclosure fiasco is a simple issue of poor consumer personal responsibility, just to goad you into an uncomfortable policy position in opposition to mine. That’d be fun to watch you squirm into.

The Dispatch should be encouraged to provide substantive political material - I mean, that’s in their best interests, right Brian? Poor content will at least partially bring on more subscription cancellations. Free markets, rah rah rah.

The format is poor. The substantive commentary is awful. Even the jingle is lame. There’s plenty to improve.

    My ears still hurt.

I think we largely agree, but you’re just a bit over the top with the ears bleeding thing. It wasn’t that bad.

Jerid berates anyone who doesn’t bow down to the rhetorical propaganda of the BS Blog. IMO, Jerid doesn’t like mainstream media scooping-in on territory that Jerid falsely believes he owns.

No one owns Free Speech, especially Jerid Kurtz, who censors and bans blog posters upon the slightest disagreement and/or provocation.

Jerid Kurtz is the Frat Boy Prince of “Slam and Ban” which means he posts a slam piece about an individual or group on the BS Blog then either censors or bans the slammed individual’s attempts to reply.

Jerid deserves multitudes of criticism for his assault on free speech and dissemination of misguided disinformation originally manufactured by “big boi” Bryan Clark and “Mr. Lie and Earn” Todd Hoffman who sit in the ivory tower of Chrissy Redfern’s Ohio Democratic Party Headquarters in Columbus.

One thing is for sure, Chris Redfern doesn’t know how to hire honest and trustworthy people or keep promises.

Were you able to get the entire podcast to play? Mine ends just after talking about mailings that go out. I’ve tried to re-start it three times but no luck.

  5. Posted by Brian | Aug 14, 2007 10:23 pm

I had no problem. Quicktime is annoying and fickle however. They should use a simple flash player (like YouTube). Almost no one has a problem with those. And I’ve seen plenty of serviceable and simple flash mp3 players out there. It’s should not be difficult for people to listen.

  6. Posted by Jerid | Aug 15, 2007 12:34 am

    Dave,

There’s no assault on free speech at BSB. Everyone’s welcome, even Naugle…except for you.

    Oh, and take your meds.

sigh - weird -okay - well maybe I’ll try again later - do you use a Mac or a PC?

The Drinking Liberally people of New Milford Connecticut think that Jerid is way off base to try to jerk Ohio Democrats to the right by ridiculing a sitting US Congressman from Ohio.
    http://drinkliberal.blogspot.com/2007/08/kucinich-getting-kicked-for-what.html

    Good Lord ???
    http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/oh_10_hackett_gives_kucinich_the_proverbial_finger_endorses_palmer#comment-21268

WTF, you’d think dumbass Ohio pseudo Dems like Jerid could find better things to do with their time other than trying to unseat a sitting Democratic Party Congressman.

My, my Jerid… you sure made a grand impression on everyone in and around New Hampshire. I bet pride is welling-up in all those Ohio moderate establishment (Republican Lite) so-called Democrats who funded your failed New Hampshire propaganda fest. You couldn’t even get interviews with Presidential campaign staffers, let alone candidates, except 15 minutes of Dodd and 5 minutes of Richardson.

    BWWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Your shining moment was with Mitt Romney… I suppose you’re a big fan of HIS now, since you’d rather spend your time trying to tear down a sitting US Congressman from Ohio.

The reality of it is that Jerid’s buddy (Mr. Huge Moda Bar Meetup killer himself) Anthony Fossaceca is working for Rosemary Palmer along with Susan Meara from the BlueOhioan Blog. This just gives Jerid more unfounded and unjustified reasons to hack against a sitting Democratic Party US Congressman from Ohio.

So, since Jerid’s not disclosing all of the facts (as usual), I’ll do it for him. This is why Jerid bans me from posting at the BS Blog… not because of his claim that he believes I should be taking “meds.”

Jerid Kurtz is a disingenuous lying frat boy who hacks against the interests of everyday base supporters and voters who represent grassroots progressive activist interests. If Anthony Fossaceca and Susan Meara was working for Dennis Kucinich, Jerid may or may not be hacking for Kucinich. But, at a minimum, Jerid would not write much bad about a candidate that Anthony Fossaceca and Susan Meara are working for.

Get real Jerid… keep slammin’ and bannin’ on the BS Blog. The only reason you let Naugle stay around is because it gets you blog traffic. You get rid of people like me because we show people multiple reasons for them to NEVER click on any link to the BS Blog again.

Who really needs the “meds” Jerid when you are the one who is DELUSIONAL !!!

I’m on a PC. Quicktime’s an Apple product, so theoretically it should work better on a Mac. Maybe you should reinstall it. Seriously though, it’s one of the worst things Apple’s ever put out. I won’t even get into how it sits in the system tray all the time and hogs resources.

  10. Posted by Penelope Giddings | Aug 15, 2007 3:57 pm

I can’t find the connection between Hickman’s comments (rant) and the Dispatch podcast. Not everything is an opportunity to bash Jerid.

    Dear Dave,
Get a life. Or at least a prescription.
    Sincerely,
    Columbus
