Selective outrage at Ohio 15th Blog

The unthinkingly partisan Ohio 15th blog is upset about “the relationship between lawmakers and lobbyists” and that US Rep Deborah Pryce hosted a fundraiser in Aspen. The blogger quotes a paragraph about the fundraiser from this article in the Dispatch. But immediately preceding the quoted paragraph is this:

Lawmakers can get quite creative in coming up with out-of-town events to attract lobbyists and their money.

For example, Democratic Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Cleveland held a June 22 fundraiser on a 74-foot schooner sailing out of the historic Chesapeake Bay port of Annapolis, Md. Tubbs Jones is chairwoman of the House ethics committee and a member of the powerful tax-writing Ways and Means Committee. About 30 people sailed for more than two hours on the sunset cruise, mostly lobbyists or representatives of various political action committees, a Tubbs Jones spokeswoman said.

To paraphrase the Ohio 15th, instead of meeting with constituents, it appears that Tubbs-Jones would rather raise money for her PAC or her campaign. But returning to the 15th CD, we sure are looking forward to when Mary Jo Kilroy is elected, considering that she has promised to meet with constituents round the clock and to never do any fundraising. Oh, wait.

Sorry Brian doesn’t like my blog. It is my blog and I can say anything I’d like. Since Pryce has been in office, oil companies, insurance firms, and mega pharmaceutical corporations have all made huge profits. That is why they all love her and contribute heavily to her PACs and campaign. Just check opensecrets.org for more info. We are still waiting for the jobs Pryce was going to deliver to the district. However, the only thing she has delivered are more Wal-marts and her unwavering support for Bush’s neverending, strategy-less, money wasting war. When Kilroy is elected, she’ll work to end the war that Pryce loves so much.

wow Brian…you should have included fanatical and lock-step. i think I read those same accusations on “Democrats 101: things we have called Republicans for the last 70 years. Boy it must be sad to hate America so much that blind rage takes over. I feel pity for Ohio 15. Angry and brainwashed with conspirac theories is no way to go through life. Maybe next Pryce is responsible for 9/11?

I’m a registered Democrat and have done some work for candidates, but I find the hackery at the Ohio 15th Blog mundanely offensive.

The content on the Ohio 15th blog is just about the same type of junk journalism that had been published on the Mary Jo Kilroy for Congress Blog during 2006.

Both the Ohio 15th Blog and the Mary Jo Kilroy Blog went way too far overboard with negative attacks on Bush, Pryce and others rather than spelling-out more substantive articles to demonstrate what makes Mary Jo Kilroy tick.

Because both the Ohio 15th Blog and Mary Jo Kilroy Blog did such a poor job in ‘06, I have a neutral opinion regarding the race between Kilroy and Pryce for ‘08.

I simply don’t believe that blue collar and other working class people would have any better access to Kilroy than the non-existent access that Pryce offers.

Also, Kilroy’s ‘06 outreach to African Americans and immigrants was abysmal. Again, Kilroy does not demonstrate that she’s any better at representing this base Democratic Party constituency than Pryce. Kilroy was far too tied to groups like Upper Arlington Progressive Action while damn near ignoring neighborhoods just east of Interstate 71.

Another thing, Kilroy needs to upgrade her appearance significantly… maybe a makeover is in order. She should take note of the makeover given to Vic Wulstin in the Ohio 2nd race. I’m also concerned about Kilroy’s health, which hasn’t been all that great.

Finally, Kilroy’s fundraising has been horrible due to hiring young punk kids like BSB’s 2010_Buckeye (Peter). It appears that Kilroy is nearly completely reliant on DCCC funds and thus she is a slave to whatever they want her to stand for rather than being her own person.

Paula Brooks would have been a much better Democratic Party candidate than Kilroy… but c’est la vie. This is one race that I wish a viable third party candidate would rise to the occasion because both the incumbent and challenger are damaged goods.

[…] Hickman claims that 2010 Buckeye works for Mary Jo Kilroy’s congressional campaign. I don’t know if that’s true. It would explain 2010’s post […]
