Dems likely to select their woman for OH-15 in July

News on the Ohio 15th front from the Dispatch blog:

Although he hasn’t set a date, Franklin County Democratic Party Chairman William A. Anthony Jr. said this afternoon that he still plans to convene the party’s governing body to endorse one of two county commissioners as the party’s candidate for the 15th Congressional District in 2008.

Anthony said he expects the meeting of the 195-member executive and central committee to occur on a night within the first two weeks of July. Meanwhile, Anthony acknowledged, Democratic Commissioners Mary Jo Kilroy and Paula Brooks are furiously wooing committee members behind the scenes.

Most Democrats desperately want to avoid that primary. And it’s too bad because it would be a lot of fun. The winner or the chosen one will run against incumbent Republican Deborah Pryce in the November 2008 election.
